Ubisoft releases a new trailer for Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege officially revealing the leaked Japanese Skyscraper map included in the Operation Red Crow update.
After launching late last year, Rainbow Six Siege has proven to be a wildly successful hit for Ubisoft. Not only has the game managed to capture and hold onto its audience thanks to a gradual post-launch content plan, but it continues to grow its player base even a year after launch. Fans have already receieved three DLC packs and now a fourth is imminent. After promising more information this week, Ubisoft is starting to deliver on that with a trailer which gives players a quick preview of the upcoming map.
Even though it was leaked a week earlier, the map known as Skyscraper was officially revealed by Ubisoft in a new preview trailer for the upcoming Operation Red Crow DLC. Taking place on what appears to be the top of a massive building set in the center of a dense city which the company has confirmed to be Nagoya, Japan. Players will be battling through multiple buildings modeled after traditional Japanese structures, though Ubisoft has not confirmed if verticality will be a factor considering that a few of the buildings are fairly tall.
With multiple buildings and rooms to run around in, it appears that players will have all sorts of nooks and crannies to hide in – including a restaurant and bar. What's not clear at this point is what other sorts of improvements and features are coming into this fourth and final content pack for Year One. Just a few months ago, the last major update (known as Operation Skull Rain) not only introduced two new operations and a map centered around Brazil, but the game added a number of new features such as weapon attachments, the fan requested Tactical Realism Mode, and several other improvements to the experience.
Obviously, the last piece to this Operation Red Crow DLC puzzle is just who the two new operators are going to be and what deadly abilities they bring with them. While official word has yet to be given, leaked images of two Japanese special forces operators known as Echo and Hibana arrived on Reddit yesterday. Neither operator or what they can do has been confirmed, but the images and names already have the fanbase searching for answers.
What is your impression of Operation Red Crow so far based on what you've seen? What other sorts of additions are you hoping to see in this last expansion? Let us know in the comment section below.
