As the game moves into its seventh year, Ubisoft has shared several details about its future. The developers recently released a comprehensive content roadmap for Year 7, revealing a bunch of exciting new content, including the first new map in three years. Rainbow Six Siege fans can rejoice as this new map, called Emerald Plains, is now finally available for them to explore.

Emerald Plains depicts a traditional Irish castle that has been converted into a luxurious country club and a private ranch. It is a mid-sized map of two floors, and each of them offers a slightly different environment. The first has a more modern look, while the second floor is more inclined towards a traditional or classic appearance. The map also features multiple spacious rooms, three staircases, a fireplace atrium, and skylight windows. The map was initially released on Rainbow Six Siege's test servers but is now available for all players.

This map is part of the first season of the year, titled :Operation Demon Veil," which will also bring a few other additions to the game, including a Team Deathmatch Mode. The Team Deathmatch Mode is unlike any other previous Rainbow Six Siege game mode as it strips away all gadgets, making the game similar to other online FPS titles. Most gamers see the Team Deathmatch Mode as an ideal place to warm up before moving to objective modes.

Operation Demon Veil also introduced a new defensive operator, Azami, who is of Japanese origin and is seen wielding a kunai. Azami is among the most intriguing defensive operators with a unique primary gadget called "Kiba Barrier." Kiba Barrier is essentially a kunai similar to a throwing knife which releases a rapidly solidifying liquid when thrown on surfaces. This new gadget helps in securing vulnerable places and can also be used to distract other players.

Rainbow Six Siege is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
