Upon extracting from an Incursion in Rainbow Six Extraction, players may find that the portrait of the Operator that they were using has an orange filter on it and that the Operator has been marked as "Inactive." These two things occur when the Operator falls below a certain HP threshold, and fans will need to heal the character before they can get them back into action. For those players that are unclear about exactly how to heal Operators in Rainbow Six Extraction, this guide is here to help.

Rainbow Six Extraction: How to Heal Inactive Operators

In order to heal Inactive Operators in Rainbow Six Extraction, players must take other characters into Incursions and earn XP with them. Indeed, any XP that is earned is translated into HP upon extracting from a mission, and that HP is put toward reviving injured Operators. To note, while players need not fully complete Incursions to heal their Inactive Operators in this fashion, they will earn more XP, and HP by extension, for doing so.

This system for healing Operators means that Rainbow Six fans will need to get comfortable playing a few different characters, as it is unlikely that they will be able to take the same one into absolutely every Incursion. While players that have already fallen in love with one Operator may find this process to be slightly annoying, it should not take too long to get the preferred character back up and running. And maybe those fans will even find another Operator that they enjoy playing along the way.

To note, there is actually a designation that is beyond "Inactive," and players cannot use the previously outlined method to heal Operators that have received it. That designation is "Missing in Action," and there will be a red filter on the portrait of the Operator that it is applied to. Multiplayer shooter fans should not be too concerned if one of their Operators is MIA, though, as they are not lost permanently and can be rescued.

The most proactive approach to recovering an MIA Operator in Rainbow Six Extraction is to revisit the Incursion where they were lost and complete the rescue mission that will appear there. If a player is successful in that mission, any pending XP that the rescued Operator had not yet secured will be maintained. However, if they fail, or instead ignore the rescue mission and wait for the Operator to return without any intervention, then all of that XP will be lost.

Rainbow Six Extraction is out now for Amazon Luna, PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
