When squads are being picked in Rainbow Six Extraction, it's fair to be surprised by a Fuze selection. His ability is often misunderstood and while it is powerful, it does alert enemies to the fact that they are being attacked. Fuze tells the team that they're going in loud.

This is, of course, a dangerous gambit as Rainbow Six Extraction gets exponentially harder when enemies are alerted. Fuze will be blamed if things don't for well. But if he's got the right loadout, Fuze is a primary damage dealer than can win at the highest difficulty settings.

Primary Weapon - AK-12

  • Holographic Sights
  • Compensator
  • Angled Grip

Fuze is one of the few operators that is denied access to a shotgun, even after unlocking everything. As such, it's important for him to get back after placing his ability charge, since any surviving enemies will be best dealt with at range.

Though shotguns are often preferred by the community, those who level up quickly will find that the AK-12 is fantastic and much better than the default forever-to-reload LMG. Go ahead and focus purely on damage with the weapon as it will be used after enemies have been alerted, not before.

Secondary Weapon - PMM

  • Suppressor

Fuze has two choices for handguns. One does more damage with fewer shots in the clip while the other does less damage with more shots. Due to this secondary weapon being reserved for stealth shooting, go with the one that does more damage.

Giving this operator a priority when it comes to upgrades is a good idea since it unlocks the PMM and the AK-12. The PMM does enough damage to kill an enemy with a weak spot shot in a single hit. The range is also good from anywhere on the map.

Explosive Tech - Claymore

Fuze knows that the instant his ability detonates, enemies are going to come running toward that location. The instinct may be to shoot them as they arrive, but this is an unnecessary risk. Fuze could take damage and need to heal in between deployments.

Instead, plant some Claymores around the location and watch as enemies explode when they approach. There may still be some shooting to be done, but it will be on a few stragglers, not a hoard. Also, if Fuze's charge kills everyone in the room, simply pick the Claymore back up and use them for the next charge.

Gear - XR Recon Drone

This may be the most important difference between a good Fuze and a bad Fuze player. Fuze should use his ability against rooms with lots of enemies, not empty or near-vacant areas. How can he know which areas are populated? The XR Recon Drone takes care of that.

If a squadmate takes care of scanning duties, it's fair to select something like the Explosive Harness for more Claymores. But if not, Fuze should take care of this himself with this drone that will reveal enemy activity through walls and around corners.

Rainbow Six Extraction was released on January 20th, 2022, and is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
