The sixth and final RAGE gameplay video has been released with just a little time to spare until the game’s launch in the first week of October. Covered in this particular video will be the first appearance of vehicle combat and a lot more long distance battles. Like the previously released RAGE gameplay videos, combat is at the heart of it of this new trailer, titled Jackal Canyon: Recover the Decryptor, as well as the variety in engagements.

Id Software’s RAGE will be the company’s latest IP offering in their long history of first person shooter development. The company is also taking a slight risk in releasing a brand new game in an industry that has been increasingly saturated with numerous sequels and spin-offs to already established brands. Whether or not people agree with that kind of assessment, RAGE is intriguing and looks to deliver another first person shooter with that id Software touch.

Previous gameplay videos included a peek at the RAGE’s cooperative gameplay, both split-screen and single-screen and how the player receives quests and missions from one of the various NPCs throughout the world. For those of you who are going to be picking up the game for the PC, you won’t have to worry about having a serious rig.

As stated earlier, this last gameplay video of RAGE addresses one of the aspects that has not yet really been showcased in their promotion of the game, vehicle manipulation and combat. Be on the lookout for the signature id gibbing, the zen of sniping, and of course, balloon bombs. Take a look and see what you make of it.

One of the more notable highlights of RAGE is its variety of highly detailed environments. Id has worked hard to ensure that with RAGE, they would be getting away from the corridor shooter. While there will be some tightly confined areas, it will be location specific, so players will be able to experience the wide open areas of a post-apocalyptic Earth.

RAGE releases October 4, 2011 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.
