It has been quite a while since RAGE 2 fans have received any news about id Software and Avalanche Studios' forthcoming open world first-person shooter, but it looks as if the companies are set to give gamers even more content to gnaw on later this week. As it so happens, the Bethesda-published title has promised it is going to be premiering a new trailer during The Game Awards 2018, which is set to occur this Thursday, December 6, 2018.

As seen in the tweet below from the official RAGE 2 Twitter account, the creators behind the title have decided to use a short video to jokingly ask the fans to consider it for "Best Post-Post-Apocalyptic Western Game", which, of course, is a non-existent category. And while the clip confirms that a trailer is indeed to be shown during The Game Awards 2018, there's not much to go on as to what should be expected from the forthcoming footage.

One of the last portions of RAGE 2 content that id Software and Avalanche Studios released for fans to take in came several months ago at QuakeCon 2018, with a gameplay trailer showing off vehicle combat and more. With this being the case, perhaps the companies will use its trailer for The Game Awards 2018 as a means to flesh out some of story underpinning the first-person shooter, as plot details have been practically non-existent up to this point.

Taking all of this into consideration, it's really anyone's guess as to what exactly the forthcoming RAGE 2 trailer at The Game Awards 2018 will contain, but if previous press releases are any indication, then fans should expect it to be chock full of fast-paced action and morbid, off-the-wall humor. Thankfully, we don't have too much longer to wait until we find out what Bethesda, id Software, and Avalanche Studios have in store for the game during the annual awards ceremony.

RAGE 2 is currently scheduled for release during Spring 2019 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
