When discussing Rage 2, id Software has never shied away from doing things a bit outside of the box. From inviting Andrew W.K. to put on a show during the Bethesda E3 2018 press conference to a collector's edition that features a talking head, id Software embraces the crazy when discussing this game. Well, the studio is back at it again with another promotion that is likely to make most fans do a double take.

From the official Rage Twitter account, Bethesda is offering a chance for fans to win a completely customized Sega Dreamcast that is capable of playing Rage 2 just by following the account and retweeting the giveaway promotion. The classic system is painted black with a pink 'A' lettering from the Rage logo designed to look spray painted on.

However, the trick here is that it's not an actual Sega Dreamcast, only the outer shell of the former console. Inside is a fully operational and customized PC with HDMI input. There's been no word on what type of hardware was infused into the Dreamcast casing, but the terms and conditions does put the estimated retail value of the machine at around $590.00 USD. Interested players should act fast, as the promotion ends on May 3 while the lucky winner will be selected the following Monday on May 6.

This past April Fools Day, Bethesda pulled a reverse prank on fans by announcing a new feature for Rage 2 that's outlandish but real. Taking a page out of what Volition did with the Ostrich Hammer in Red Faction Guerrilla, the studio brought in Tim Kitzrow to provide classic voice lines for the game in a pre-order bonus called He's On Fire. Fans may remember Kitzrow from his time with Midway Games where he coined iconic phrases like Boomshakalaka on many of the studio's arcade sports titles like NBA Jam, Wayne Gretzky's 3D Hockey, NFL Blitz and more.

Rage 2 releases on May 14, 2019 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
