TBS Animation started streaming a new trailer for the upcoming Quintessential Quintuplets the Movie anime film on Sunday. The conclusive entry to the popular harem series is expected to run for over two hours, and will premiere in Japanese cinemas on May 20.

A game adaptation of the film was announced in February, and will be released on June 2 for both the PS4 and Nintendo Switch.

Negi Haruba’s The Quintessential Quintuplets manga ran in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine from 2017-2020, amassing 14 collected volumes throughout its run. The popular harem title has various anime and game adaptations alongside the upcoming film finale. A novel series was announced back in January, and will begin serialization starting March 31.

Tezuka Productions animated the first season of the anime, which was released during the Winter 2019 season. A second season, The Quintessential Quintuplets , was animated by Bibury animation Studios and aired during the Winter 2021 season.

Satoshi Kuwabara (Black Jack, Dagashi Kashi 2) directed the first season while Keiichirō Ōchi (Hinamatsuri, My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU Climax!) handled the script. Kaori (Shirobako, How to Keep a Mummy) took over as director for the second season and Ōchi returned as scriptwriter.

Masato Jinbo (Fate/kaleid liner Prisma☆Illya, ChäoS;Child) will direct the movie, with Bibury Animation Studios returning to animate. Ōchi will once again return as scriptwriter, with Hanae Nakamura (My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!, Clockwork Planet) and Miki Sakurai (Adachi and Shimamura, Girlfriend, Girlfriend) handling the music for the film.

Kodansha USA publishes the manga series in English, while the anime can be streamed on both Crunchyroll and Funimation.
