Quantum Error looks to be a promising horror game that has the potential to run with the greats like Dead Space, and if that wasn't impressive enough, it is made by a small, independent team of only four dedicated individuals. Interested fans have waited patiently for an update on its status, and now a new trailer has provided just that. This trailer is just over four minutes of straight gameplay, showing off several enemy types, the powerful variety of weapons that players will have at their disposal, and giving a glimpse at the environment and setting.

TeamKill Media is putting forth Quantum Error as its second major title. This one in particular is getting a lot of attention, surprising fans with its atmospheric reveal almost a full year ago. While the reveal trailer did a great job of setting the mood, the new trailer gives players a better idea of what the gameplay will be like.

At the start of the trailer, the player's character steps outside into what the UI tells viewers is Jupiter in the year 2109. It doesn't take long before they are immediately set upon by a variety of grotesque enemies. Humanoid creatures with blades for arms, a giant alien spider, and some kind of bloated monstrosity all show up with the singular goal of killing the player. In this one encounter, players get to see the shotgun, ion rifle, and Railgun weapons. After defeating them, the player finds a vehicle and drives off in it.

The second half of this gameplay trailer turns Quantum Error's creepy up to eleven, showing the player character in close quarters. The walls of this compound seem infested with the fleshy remains of aliens and humans alike, and there are enemies lurking around every dark corner. In here, viewers get to meet a creature attached to the ceiling, strange floating heads, and a mysterious boss enemy cloaked in shadow. To handle these threats, new weapons are brought out such as the pistol, the Jaws of Life melee weapon, a fireman's axe, and eventually the destructive Prototype DEW.

Amidst all of this, fans are drawn to the fire fighter themes found all throughout this trailer and the last. The Jaws of Life are shown to be a powerful melee weapon, but they are obviously a direct reference to the hydraulic rescue tools that fire fighters use to quickly pull people out of vehicles and save their lives. A puzzle is shown in which the player must use a fire hose to put out fires before moving forward, and the Quantum Error reveal trailer showed the characters in fire fighter uniforms. Hopefully more will be revealed soon, but until then, enjoy the new gameplay trailer above.

Quantum Error is in development for PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X.
