A new line of Pokemon apparel launches as the iconic gaming franchise teams up with Puma, producing shoes, t-shirts, jackets, and more. It is no secret that the Pokemon franchise is an incredibly marketable one, and as the series has recently celebrated its 25th anniversary it has also proven to be a long-lasting brand, with multiple deals made with other companies over the years. While a lot of fans primarily love the Pokemon games, and are eagerly awaiting the upcoming release of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, there are also those who enjoy collecting apparel and merchandise from the franchise.

There have been plenty of interesting and even strange Pokemon collaborations over the years, producing new collectible pieces of merchandise for fans to enjoy. Take the Pokemon skateboards designed by Bear Walker, for example, which were first announced back in January 2021. Since then, the well-known skateboard creator has produced plenty of different designs, featuring well-known Pokemon such as Pikachu, Gengar, Mewtwo, and the Eevee evolutions.

Now, a new line of Pokemon apparel launches as the Nintendo franchise teams up with well-known clothing brand Puma. This deal was first revealed last month, along with some promotional images of the items fans could get their hands on. After a short wait, the new line of apparel can now be purchased via the Pokemon Center online store. It includes sneakers, hats, bags, hoodies, t-shirts, and more for fans, featuring various designs focusing on a few different Pokemon.

It seems the Pokemon and Puma collaboration focuses more on the franchise's past than its present, as a lot of the designs featured have either Pikachu front and center or one of if not all of the starters from Pokemon's first Gen. While the Gen 1 starters and their evolutions are certainly iconic Pokemon, for those who had wanted to perhaps see their favorite creature from a later game in the series, the lack of variety in this collection might be somewhat disappointing. Then again, some items in the Pokemon and Puma collaboration are proving to be incredibly popular, with the sneakers featuring each of the Gen 1 starters already having sold out on the Pokemon Center website.

For anyone looking to fill out their wardrobe with some Pokemon merch, they'll want to head to the Pokemon Center online store sooner rather than later to ensure they get what they're after. There are likely to be more Pokemon collaborations with clothing brands in the future even if a fan doesn't manage to grab what they want this time around. Last year, there was a Pokemon collection from Converse, showing there's a likelihood more apparel could come in another brand deal.
