In the midst of the growing number of countries that are fighting to ban PUBG in their territories, it appears that the popular online shooter is now facing connectivity problems on the Xbox One. Over the weekend, some players reported that they are unable to remain online ever since PUBG's update 8 went live last week.

Although PUBG's official Twitter support account acknowledged the error last Friday, it still hasn't posted any new updates regarding the issue but reassured players that the studio is currently working on a fix. Up until today, it seems that the issue is still prevalent given that some players are still receiving a "Lost Connection to Host" error.

The error appeared immediately after PUBG released its Xbox Update 8, which introduced new features to the game, including a new progression system called Weapon Mastery, a new auto-equip feature called Controller Preset Type C, and the re-balancing of loot distribution on both the Erangel and Vikendi maps. As of the moment, it appears that the issue is isolated to the Xbox One, and hasn't affected any other gaming platforms that PUBG is on.

"Xbox Players: We are investigating an issue which is causing some players to receive a "Lost Connection to Host" error. We're actively working towards a hotfix and will provide an update once details have been finalized."

Apart from the connectivity issue on the Xbox One version of the game, PUBG made headlines recently after a minor player in India allegedly killed his brother for not letting him play the game. According to ZeeNews, an India-based news outlet, the minor's 19-year old brother, Mohammad Shaikh, reprimanded him for playing PUBG on his phone and demanded the boy to stop playing.

However, instead of putting down the game, the boy allegedly slammed his brother's head against a wall and stabbed him with a pair of scissors multiple times. Mohammad was quickly brought to the hospital but has since succumbed to his wounds and passed away. Although the details surrounding the tragic incident is yet to be revealed, a murder case against the young boy has already been opened by the police.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is out now for iOS, Android, PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
