There have been plenty of interesting additions to PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds recently, including the ability for a player to spectate their killer. Now, the popular multiplayer online battle royale game has introduced War mode, a limited-time event that pits three 10-man squads against each other “to compete for dominance over a small slice of Erangel.”

Interested players may want to jump in quickly, as the new game mode will only be available until April 15, 7 pm PDT. Each match can have no more than 30 players, but there can be fewer players, depending on the matchmaking situation. The safe zone is small and remains in a specific location throughout the match, and the first PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds team to reach 200 points will be declared the winner (or the highest scoring team at the end of the time limit.)

All players will spawn with the following: one randomized AR or DMR and pistol, level one helmet and vest, and one grenade. More loot will drop every 90 seconds throughout the match. Interestingly enough, killer spectating is disabled, the red zone is disabled, and the weather is locked at “sunny.” Check out the following clip from PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds:

War mode follows the Tequila Sunrise mode, which was a limited-time mode that disabled all weapon types except shotguns and melee. It took place on the Miramar map, and if the trend continues, perhaps players will get to see another limited-time event sometime after the War mode ends. Once the Savage map is live, perhaps it won't take long for that map to receive a limited-time event.

While many PUBG fans may very well enjoy this new War mode, many may also argue that these 5 PUBG mobile features should be in the main game. Regardless, the aforementioned limited-time modes still add a level of variety and replayability to the popular battle royale game. Tell us, Ranters, which mode has been your favorite? What kind of modes would you like to see featured in PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds?

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is available now on PC, through early access on Xbox One, and on Android and iOS mobile devices.
