A brand new update will soon arrive in PUBG, and it includes a fresh vehicle, a casual mode, brand new weapons, updates to the map, and more. Update 13.2 brings about big changes to the Taego map in PUBG and the game in general on September 8 for PC and September 16 for consoles. The 8x8 map was just released earlier this summer, so this shakeup should be exciting for fans.

PUBG, or PUBG: Battlegrounds as it is redundantly now called, often receives updates midseason to refresh the experience. In this case, PUBG Corporation is adding the P90 SMG weapon to Care Packages, the Blue Zone Grenade, updates to the Taego map, new weather options, and a new Survivor Pass. But the highlights might be the new Porter truck and the introduction of Casual Mode.

The Porter is a pick-up truck that is exclusive to Taego. The vehicle is a Hyundai make, so racing titles like the upcoming Forza Horizon 5 aren't the only games that can pull licensed vehicles in-game. The vehicle can sit up to four passengers, but it also has a new Trunk System feature. This feature allows players to store items in the back of the vehicle, which can be helpful when trying to move items across the map. However, if the Porter gets destroyed, the items will be lost.

Casual Mode is a new addition that allows players to warm up in a less stressful environment exclusively on the map Erangel. PUBG: Battlegrounds players can duke it out in up to three matches of Casual Mode per day, either in solo or in team play. While playing in this mode, players can still collect XP, BP rewards, complete missions, etc.

In terms of the new weapons, the P90 enters the game as a very powerful and fully kitted Care Package weapon. The SMG comes with a suppressor, 50-round magazine, and laser pointer. Meanwhile, the Blue Zone Grenade is a very unique item that should shake up the gameplay. The grenade can be tossed at enemies and it will create the same Blue Zone "storm"-like effect that damages and even kills enemies if they are inside it too long. It will be incredibly useful in flushing out buildings.

The Taego map is also receiving updates to the mini-map layout, sunset, and overcast weather options are coming to the map, and the Crazy Night-themed Survivor Pass is over-the-top and will last eight weeks instead of six. A lot is happening in the world of PUBG, and right as PUBG Creator Brendan Greene steps away, no less. It will be interesting to see this new update in play when it drops and how PUBG: Battlegrounds continues to evolve.

PUBG: Battlegrounds is currently available on PC, PS4, Stadia, Xbox One, and mobile devices.
