Not too long ago, the PC version of Bluehole Studio’s PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds received a new island for its training mode, which was designed to help players develop better skills on the battlefield. Now, it looks as the developer intends on offering up another map soon, with a recent datamine of PUBG‘s game files uncovering an enormity of information, including the inclusion of pictures of the new snow map on the way.
As seen in the image below of what PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds‘ game files call “Dihor Otok”, the new map not only has snowy and ice-filled environments, but also some forestry, as several areas toward the bottom of the map are much greener than the top. With this being the case, there’s a good chance that the river running through the middle of Dihor Otok will be frozen in the top half and have flowing water in the more southern regions.
For those unaware, when Dihor Otok finds its way into PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds in the near future, it will officially be the game’s fourth available map, with the others consisting of Erangel, Miramar, and Sanhok. As of now, PUBG fans should expect to see the Dihor Otok added to the game at some point this winter, but a concrete date has yet to officially be set. However, it ought to become available in PUBG‘s test servers soon enough.
All things considered, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds‘ addition of Dihor Otok should excite the game’s fan base, as it will provide them with more variety when it comes to the battle royale experience’s environments and climates. Not to mention, its addition to the game adds another point in favor of PUBG over its main competitor, Fortnite, as the latter only has one map on which to play.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is available now for Android, iOS, PC, and Xbox One.
