Earlier this year, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds suspended player item trading, citing abuse of the system. Now, Valve has applied bans to all of OPskins' trade bots, without letting players withdraw their items from the trading system, resulting in over a million dollars' worth of vanity items being lost.

To be specific, the suspension went into effect on May 3 without warning and thus trapping 964, 243 skins in OPskin's inventory. Then, on June 9, Valve announced it would completely ban all OPSkin trade bots by June 21, prompting the trading website to urge its users to withdraw skins by the deadline. During this period, PUBG Corp. could have lifted the restrictions and allowed players to withdraw their personal vanity items, but the company did not.

According to Reddit user, IAmNotOnRedditAtWork, this PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds ban has resulted in the loss of items totaling ~$1,018,486.58 due to PUBG Corp's inaction on the issue. While the trading ban may be understandable, it's strange that the company wouldn't at least allow its players to withdraw their personal investments. Check out a sample of the inventory below:

Many may have expected this ban to come from Valve, which in the past had banned trading sites such as Dota2lounge and CSGOlounge for the corresponding games. Nevertheless, this doesn't prevent the community from being understandably upset. It's also worth mentioning that this isn't the first controversy Valve has been involved in lately, as the company also received some flack for attempting to have games removed from its Steam platform over sexual content.

Speaking of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds and controversy, PUBG Corp. has recently dropped its lawsuit against Fortnite. While the company failed to provide an explanation for this decision, this will hopefully free enough time for PUBG Corp. to address the community's anger over this loss and perhaps offer some form of compensation, though that remains to be seen.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is out now for iOS, Android, and PC, and is available on Xbox One through early access.
