Season 9 has arrived for PlayerUnkown's Battlegrounds. It brings a dynamic fresh map, a new survivor pass, changes to the store, and more. The update for PUBG came out on PC last week, but today it went live for consoles.

Perhaps the most exciting aspect of the PUBG update is that new dynamic map. Paramo is a 3x3 map that takes place on the location of an active volcano. Players must avoid hot lava in this gorgeous new map. Additionally, the map has a dynamic element to it, as the look of the locations can change with sunlight, cloudy cover, and even ash falling from the sky.

The new map also comes with crates that are hidden throughout the world that can be broken open for supplies. Additionally, a key can be discovered to open a secret door of some sort. Helicopters are also used to drop players into the battle, as well as care packages. The helicopters can be blown up early to drop the supplies as well.

The update also sees a brand new survivor pass where exclusive gear can be unlocked. With the season being shortened, players only need to level up to 50 to receive all of the content. Ranked mode gets a refresh, as do the season-based stats (not quite as expansive as the detailed PUBG stats that are available online) for all players. Lastly, G-Coin is being added to the game, which is in-game currency that can be used to make purchases in the shop.

The console version of the update is ready to go, as PUBG Corporation continues to support the game on all fronts. PUBG will run at 60 FPS on next-generation consoles, so players who are enjoying the game on PS4 and Xbox One can look forward to a smoother experience on the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is available on Mobile, PC, PS4, Xbox One.
