Player Unknown Battlegrounds and many titles of its ilk have revitalized the gaming world for the better. These types of games encourage gamers to rely on teamwork more, but feature a healthy dose of competition at the same time. Now with PUBG: New State out, players will be able to re-deploy in a futuristic world again on mobile devices. PUBG Mobile was home to some pretty great mechanics that many want to be ported to the console and PC version, so it makes sense of those being brought over to its sequel.

When PUBG: New State was first announced, many players were curious as to the differences between the first game and the new one. Even though New State has the PUBG name on it, it is still its own title, with new mechanics, a new aesthetic, and a new sense of a battle royale.

7 Battery Powered Cars

Originally, PUBG players could find gas-powered cars along with gas cans all throughout the world to refuel and to hold. In New State, these vehicles are now accompanied by battery-powered cars, for which batteries will also spawn randomly throughout the map. Though popular, these cars have their own challenges.

Depending on how fast players are going, the battery will drain quickly — though if the player has spare batteries, they can afford to do just that. Additionally, most players know that going into the blue area is a bad idea — this move is the same with battery-powered cars. Batteries will drain faster, even more quickly if the player is speeding. While it's a great addition, players will need specific strategies when it comes to using these vehicles.

6 Drone Store

Getting supply drops was pretty beneficial in the original game. It gives players a chance to get good equipment and weapons, but they drop in open areas, allowing other players to ambush and steal. With these new drone stores, players can get supply drops anywhere — but be aware that other players can see the approximate area of the drop.

With these drones, players can buy items like med packs, armor, ammo, and other things they need to survive. In order to get the currency to use the drone store, players must loot in-game first, which will give them money.

5 Drones

Not only do drones help with supplies, but they also give players a tactical advantage. PUBG is already pretty accessible because of its simplicity, hence why it's still a sought-after game. Now drones will add complexity, mainly because players can use the drone to see what's coming.

Everyone is on the same level in battle royale shooters, so no players can anticipate what the others are doing. However, having the drone can add more fun to gameplay; for example, those who can see the drone can easily adapt to play a more conservative fighting style. While using the drone is fun, players must be aware of their surroundings, because they won't be able to control the character while in drone mode.

4 Squad Up Mode

This is one of the most unique and the newest feature in New State. When an enemy player is in "Down, But Not Out" mode, players can either kill them or save them. If they opt for the latter, players can revive them and bring them into their squad, provided there are spaces available. This mechanic can be useful when playing with other players who aren't friends; when one player dies, they can look for help by searching for a downed enemy.

It also makes surviving easier, because now players don't really worry about what happens after one teammate goes down. New State ultimately gives players many chances to come out on top. Remember, though, that this mechanic can only work if slots are open, and there are only slots available for up 4 players in total.

3 Green Flare Gun

Apex Legends allows a killed off legend to come back to the field, as long as one of their teammates brought their banner back to respawn point. This mechanic brought new life to the battle royale genre: Fortnite even brought it their game, and it survival a lot easier.

Now, PUBG: New Style has it, and just like the other games, it helps keep the momentum going. Just like losing a teammate, players don't need to worry about when one dies. They just use the flare gun to bring them back. However, the mechanic acts differently than it does in Apex; in the latter, players could revive others an unlimited amount of times if they have their banner. In New State, players need to purchase the green flare gun from the drone store.

2 First Person & Third Person View

In New State, players can switch between first-person and third-person views, allowing for a greater range of strategy. Giving players a better of a view of their surroundings can give them a chance to get better situated. Going in third person may benefit some by looking for cover right before moving, or some may use the first-person view to properly scout an area before looting.

Both viewpoints have benefits that depend on how the player uses them. Plus, if a squad is playing, players can constantly update one another of what's going on while looting because they can get surrounded quickly.

1 A New Map

PUBG's maps are pretty all over the place depending on who is being asked, but they do offer something for everyone. PUBG: New Style features a new map called Troi, which features a mix of Miramar and Eragnel from PUBG: Moblie that will have a diverse terrain.

Featuring closed-off valleys, open fields, urban areas with a lot of high ground, it'll offer something for everyone. Having such a diverse landscape for a mobile game not only shows how ambitious it is but also how different it can be. Players that fight in open areas will have to adapt to another type of terrain, so the clashing of different fighting styles can open up for some pretty explosive firefights.

PUBG: New State is available on Android and iOS.
