One of the world's biggest mobile games is officially meeting one of pop culture's biggest TV shows, in a crossover event between PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds and AMC's The Walking Dead. Specifically, players of PUBG Mobile will be able to take on the appearance of various heroes - and villains - from the hit show.

This won't be PUBG Mobile's first big franchise crossover; other recent collaborations include a crossover with Resident Evil 2Mission Impossible: Fallout, and Godzilla: King of the MonstersPUBG made its Walking Dead announcement today, with the fun set to begin tomorrow, October 1.

The famously addicting PUBG Mobile will allow players to utilize a number of Walking Dead-themed in-game items, including four character skins, two weapons, and a vehicle. Characters coming to the game are Rick, Daryl, Michonne, and Negan - and, of course, neither Michonne or Negan would be complete without their katana and barbed-wire bat, "Lucille," respectively. Daryl's motorcycle is also up for grabs, as shown by the trailer below. And players can assume all of the characters will look pretty realistic and in-line with the actors' portrayals on AMC if Daryl's already revealed appearance is anything to go by.

Speaking to Screen Rant, Tencent Games' general manager of global publishing Vincent Wang talked more about PUBG Mobile's crossover with The Walking Dead. According to him, the Tencent/AMC partnership has been fruitful, with AMC particularly good at "helping us to refine our gameplay ideas to match the integrity of the show." Wang was also able to explain why Daryl Dixon's iconic crossbow wouldn't make an appearance, adding, "While Daryl is very capable with a crossbow, we felt that players would be much more excited to rev the throttle on his motorcycle. Also, we are releasing a rocket launcher which we think Daryl Dixon fans will enjoy."

While the event starts tomorrow, it's still not clear how long PUBG Mobile will be hosting it, so players can hop on the bandwagon for the near future at least. The crossover also coincides with The Walking Dead's season 10 premiere next weekend, Sunday October 6 on AMC. So, fans will be able to express their excitement before the premiere by firing a few celebratory rockets into the sky.
