PUBG Mobile has seen consistent support from Tencent since its global launch, and its latest update is one of its biggest yet. As announced by Tencent, the latest update for PUBG Mobile introduces the desert map Miramar to the mobile version of the "original" battle royale game, among other features.

The addition of the Miramar desert map to PUBG Mobile is a big deal, as the map isn't even available in the Xbox One version of the game yet (though it has been playable on test servers). This could be a sign that PUBG Mobile will continue to receive content sooner than the Xbox One release in the future as well, meaning mobile players may also get their hands on the Sanhok jungle map before console players.

Besides the addition of the Miramar desert map, the new update for PUBG Mobile adds new missions and activities for players to complete, a new quick team feature, language-specific chat channels, and a shop where players can purchase cosmetic items.

The new update for PUBG Mobile also addresses some lingering issues with the game. After downloading the latest update, players should notice smoother camera work, improved climbing mechanics, and more sound effects. All things considered, it sounds like the latest update for PUBG Mobile should nudge it closer to the PC version of the game in terms of content and quality.

Of course, PUBG Mobile still has a long way to go if it hopes to catch up to the PC version. As previously mentioned, the Sanhok jungle map is not yet available for PUBG Mobile, and Tencent hasn't given any indication of when fans can expect it to come to the game. If it's similar to Miramar, then mobile players may not see it for another five months or so.

In the meantime, Xbox One players can expect Miramar to launch for their platform of choice on May 24.

PUBG Mobile is available now for iOS and Android mobile devices.
