Although we already have a live action adaptation of Battle Royale, which is pretty close to what a PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds movie would be like, it's still fun to imagine a cinematic version of the hit game. There aren't any official plans for a PUBG film in the near future, but this live action trailer does a pretty fantastic job selling us on the idea of one.

The live-action cinematic round of PUBG arrives just in time to promote the Chinese exclusive mobile spin-off games associated with the main title. Unfortunately all of the dialogue is in Chinese and there are no English subs attached yet, but the trailer is still well worth watching. After all, it's a lot more about gunshots and explosions than it is about the dialogue.

Here's a look at the live-action trailer, courtesy of Pinoy Game Store...

The trailer does a fantastic job capturing tons of iconinc PUBG moments in just under three minutes of footage. From start to finish, viewers are able to watch the characters whittle down from a full group skydiving out of the plane to just a few survivors battling with the best weapons and armor at the end of a match.

The trailer is full of nods to the PUBG community, including the famous frying pan deflecting a few bullets and the iconic helmet design and explosions that match the game's cover art.

The mobile spin-offs that the trailer is promoting currently have no release date for audiences in the west.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is available now on PC and on Xbox One through the Game Preview program.
