With updates arriving a lot faster, it's little surprise that PlayerUnknown's Battleground continues to be a dominant force in the gaming industry, even inspiring some big name titles like Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 to incorporate its own Battle Royale mode. The mobile version has also benefited from these quick updates as it just recently added the Miramar map, something the Xbox One version will be getting later this week. While the mobile version may not be as comfortable for some as a mouse and keyboard or controller, one Reddit user has put together a pretty interesting life hack to improve the mobile control scheme.

For those who may not want to utilize the default control scheme for the mobile version of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, Reddit user Toomad316 posted a short clip on Imgur on how to make a working trigger. Essentially, all a person would need is a bubblegum wrapper and a small piece of tape. Fold the wrapper into a thin, but strong strip, place an end over the melee button and then apply a piece of tape to hold it into place. Next, fold the wrapper over and rip off a portion of the end to shorten it. At this point, tapping or "pulling" the wrapper acts as a trigger, telling the mobile game to punch or shoot.

The video also details a few game setting changes as well, likely moving the attack button to the new location to the place needed to make this work. With the trigger, players no longer have to worry about tapping the attack button directly and can simply use the natural positioning of the index finger on the phone to pull the gum wrapper trigger. While it may not work for everyone, it will likely help some players with hand cramping or general discomfort after playing longer sessions on a mobile device.

After a few recent updates to the mobile experience, players have plenty of new modes and maps to try this out on. In addition to the Miramar desert map, Bluehole released update 0.4.0 last month, which adds a Training Grounds mode as well as Arcade. In Arcade, 28 players, either with friends or solo, each match randomly applies one of six possible modifiers to add a little twist to the traditional run and gun gameplay. This could range from the mode limiting players to only one weapon type like shotguns or a variation called Item Haven which unlocks everything.

PUBG Mobile is available now for iOS and Android mobile devices.
