Just about a week ago, War Mode was officially added to the iOS and Android versions of the popular battle royale title PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, and it looks as if further updates for the platforms won't be slowing down any time soon. Today, it was officially announced that Tencent Games has decided to team up with Paramount Pictures and Bad Robot's action film Mission: Impossible – Fallout for an exclusive month-long collaboration with PUBG Mobile.

According to the announcement, the crossover event update for PlayerUnknown's Battleground on iOS and Android will feature a Mission: Impossible – Fallout in-game theme, as well as several other fresh features. When it comes to the in-game theme, there will be all-new background music added, and even customizable parachutes inspired by the film. What's more is that there will also be special in-game rewards that allow players to exchange items for Mission: Impossible – Fallout outfits.

In addition to the aforementioned Mission: Impossible – Fallout-themed skins and design scheme, the month-long event for PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds on mobile will feature all-new challenges as well. For instance, PUBG players will be able to compete against one another in different themed challenges for the Team Rush, Survival, and First-Person Perspective modes so that they can earn various rewards.

Taking all of this into account, it's interesting to see PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds following in the footsteps of its competitor Fortnite when it comes to cross-promotional movie tie-in content. For those unaware, the latter game included Avengers: Infinity War-themed assets with its limited time inclusion of the generally well-received Infinity Gauntlet mode, so there's definitely a chance that PUBG Mobile's Mission: Impossible – Fallout event could scratch a similar itch for the battle royale title's cinephile fans.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is available now for Android and iOS mobile devices, as well as PC and Xbox One.
