Several days ago, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds revealed that it is partnering with DC Comics to introduce a couple of new skins that would allow players to dress up as Joker and Harley Quinn from Suicide Squad. These new cosmetic items were showcased via a short clip that gave players a glimpse of what these characters would look like in-game.

Currently, it is still unclear whether these new skins will be simply handed to players, or if it will form part of the rumored Prison Outbreak mode, where some players will attempt to break out, while others will try to pin them down. As of now, players can see the two characters in action as they attempt to escape from what looks like Miramar’s prison via a new trailer released by PUBG yesterday.

Both characters sport outfits that seem to resemble their look in the 2016 film, Suicide Squad. Harley Quinn is shown wearing her “Daddy’s Monster” shirt, complete with makeup and her iconic red and blue pigtails. Joker, on the other hand, dons his classic business suit, and a faint face makeup while sporting a suave green colored hair to complete the look.

While no exact release date has been announced, it is likely that the new skins will be available in the game soon, especially with Microsoft’s X108 event just around the corner. Earlier today, Microsoft revealed that it will feature a major PUBG announcement at X108, so it is possible that the new DC-themed skins, its details, and its release date will be featured at the event. As of the moment, only the Joker and Harley Quinn skins were confirmed to appear in the game, but given PUBG and DC’s newfound partnership, it is possible that more DC character skins will be introduced in the future.

It's been almost a year since PUBG was released and pioneered the battle royale formula that became the latest trend in shooter games today. However, unlike Fortnite, which is now available on all gaming platforms, PUBG remained exclusive to Windows PC and Xbox One, besides its Android and iOS versions. Now, several reports are claiming that PUBG will soon grace the PlayStation 4 as early as next month, which coincides with the expiration of its timed-exclusivity with Microsoft. Both Microsoft and PUBG remained silent about the rumors, but given Fortnite’s success with the PS4, it's not far off that PUBG would also like to get a share of Sony’s massive player base.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is now available on Android, iOS, PC, and Xbox One.
