The story of how PUBG came to be is a long but good one. There aren't many mods that became a standalone release and impacted the world of gaming, as PUBG did. It is safe to say that the PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds has revolutionized the multiplayer as a whole. Many games are now opting for similar ideas and modes to engage the maximum number of gamers. Games like Call Of Duty Warzone, Fortnite & Apex Legends all have a playable battle-royale mode, all thanks to the PUBG.

Despite many new games releasing in a similar genre, there is something special and balanced about PlayerUnknown's BattlegroundsIt could be the realistic gameplay or hardcore gunplay or the fact that the maps are very well created. This begs the question, which is the best map in the game? Even if all the maps are pretty good, there has to be a scale on which we could rate them.

6 Range (Camp Jackal)

Range or as many would call it "Camp Jackal," is the training map of the game. It is a very small-sized island, ranging at only a 2x2km. Technically, it should not be on the list as it is not a competitive map. But it is a map, nonetheless. Camp Jackal's primary use case is to train every player in the game.

It is filled with almost everything that players will find in the primary battle-royale mode. There are vehicles, guns, grenades, and range. Players can try out different weapons and combinations to learn new techniques.

5 Karakin

Karakin is the fifth map in the game and coincidentally is on the fifth place. It is another tiny island, ranging at a 2x2 km and is for a smaller 64 players game. It is an excellent map with beautiful visuals that will remind players of Far Cry 2. The most significant selling point of this map is the Black Zone.

Compared to the usual Red Zones, this map will have random black zones of doom that can annihilate players even if they chose to hide in a building. This and the size of the map creates a very fast-paced multiplayer experience. The downside of the map is its unconventional approach, and hence it can not be compared to the four big daddies of the game.

4 Vikendi

Here is the fourth main map in the game. Vikendi is a 6x6 km island full of snow and extreme conditions. It is a mid-large sized map which lots and lots of vantage points. The core of this map is to make players run long distances while surviving the climate. Sadly, the weather does not affect the gameplay much.

The map is decent and sniper friendly; it encourages players to hide in the snow or use a snowmobile. But that's not the reason why it is in the fourth place. The main reason is rare glitches in the map, and its poor performance compared to the other three main maps.

3 Miramar

Miramar is an 8x8 km map loaded with deserted land and extreme heat. It is the second map in the game but takes third place on this list. The map is sniper friendly with most of the teams and players trying to find the most significant scope and best vantage points.

The large size of the map adds to the overall experience and provides a very Bear Grylls Man Vs. Wild kind of feel. This same size is also its downside. As the vast landscape filled with players trying to scope each other means a much longer average game time. Which turns off some players, and they instead play Sanhok.

2 Sanhok

Talking about Sanhok, it is the best map in-game for many players. It is mid-sized, ranging at a 4x4 km only. It's fast-paced, full of cover and possibilities. The size of this map plays in its favor as it is easier to travel from point to point. On top, it has excellent loot almost everywhere, making it a very balanced map.

There is no downside to this map. It is pretty much perfect. And the only reason it takes the number two on this list is that Erangel does what this map does but on a much larger scale.

1 Erangel

And here is the best and most beautiful map of the game. Erangel is an 8x8 km map and feels fitting to the battle royal mode in every sense. Unlike the Miramar map, this right here is much smaller in land area, which means that travel is less hassle and more fun. Especially with a team.

It is the best map in PUBG, as it is Sanhok but provides a much larger area to explore, which feels justified to the 100 players game. It is beautiful in every sense and does not give players with bigger scopes any more advantage than players without them.
