Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds or more popularly know as PUBG boasts a huge arsenal of weapons to choose from. Ranging from meager pistols to powerhouse rifles, there is a weapon for every scenario and playstyle. With a big roster of weapons comes the question as to which weapon players should prioritize?

There isn’t one particular weapon that rules the game, and a lot depends on the player’s playstyle. However, it becomes very apparent, very fast, that there are high tier and low tier weapons in PUBG, and even though every weapon is competent in wiping out enemies, some produce better results than others. Here is a list of the best weapons in the game as well as duds that should be avoided.

10 Vector (Best)

Kicking off with a surprising entry, Vector has become a complete beast after the SMG buffs. Its overall customizability and the ease of access makes it a top tier gun. Players can easily find Vector in the early stages of the game, and when fully equipped, it can beat out anything in close range. However, the gun does struggle without an Extended Mag as its mag size is very low. It’s also not appropriate for long-range fights where it can easily be beaten out by other guns.

9 R45 (Worst)

R45 was a pretty popular handgun back when it was released, but after the arrival of Desert Eagle, it has completely been forgotten. Its kill power pales whenever compared to Desert Eagle or classic R1895, and its magazine size or handling is nothing to brag about either. It’s hardly used nowadays and isn’t viable at all, especially in a competitive mode. R45 best fits as a makeshift weapon before a player find any primary weapon.

8 M416 (Best)

M416 is the only non-air-drop 5.56 weapon that is still in the high tier. Even though it has been nerfed multiple times in the past, the gun still is a solid option that is fit for every situation. It’s way more versatile than any other assault rifle in the same class, and overall, it has been an old faithful for most players.

Once decked out with every attachment, M416 becomes a powerhouse that has the capability to triumph any weapon in the game.

7 Crossbow (Worst)

The crossbow is very hard to rank amongst other weapons due to it being very different and unique. It is only the truly silent weapon, and it also packs an ability to one-shot any level Helmet in the game. However, its dreadful range and abysmal fire rate make it very less viable in an actual game. It is a niche weapon that can be used in case of urgency or if players are trying to have fun.

6 Micro Uzi (Best)

Another SMG making the list, Micro Uzi has been the star of the competitive show in recent times. When it comes to close-combat, Micro Uzi can decimate every other assault rifle in the game. The only downside of the gun is the lack of range and that players need to connect their bullets for better damage as Micro Uzi’s spray is very quick and rapid. The gun is easily available throughout a game, making it a very popular choice amongst high elo players.

5 Sawed-off (Worst)

A very low tier weapon, which is the worst one in the shotgun family. Even for a shotgun, Sawed-off has a pitiful range, and its pellets deal very low damage. Just like S686, it only has two rounds, which makes the gun a risky choice to roll with.

If you don’t finish the target in the first two rounds or if the enemy is 10 meters away, then Sawed-off becomes a liability. It has the highest potential damage out of any other handgun, but it also has the lowest effective range.

4 AWM (Best)

AWM in PUBG

There isn’t much to say about AWM except it has by far the highest damage in the game. A single headshot from AWM is capable enough to knock out a player with level 3 Helmet. The gun is incredible in every possible way and is air-drop exclusive, rightfully so. AWM deals maximum damage up to the range of 150 meters after which, its damage starts to fall till the range of 679 meters.

3 Skorpion (Worst)

Skorpion was added to the game last year, but it never really appealed to the player base. It’s essentially a pocket SMG, that one can carry around without using the primary weapon slot. However, the Skorpion does need a lot of attachments to be effective, and even then, it’s not something to brag about. It’s better to invest the attachments to the primary weapon as Skorpion barely holds against other weapons in the game.

2 MK14 (Best)

MK14 is one of the most sought after guns in the game because of insane versatility and high base damage. You can put the gun in automatic mode, and it will essentially become an assault rifle, or you can use it as a sniper rifle for picking out enemies far away. Whether it’s a close-combat or a long-range skirmish, MK14 suffices every role. It also has a ridiculous DPS, and players capable of handling MK14 often net high kills.

1 P18C/P92 (Worst)

Apart from the very early stages of the game, either of the P18C/P92 is not worth picking up. Everything from the very inconsistent recoil to low damage output makes both of these a bad weapon. They are hardly utilized and rightfully so. Almost every weapon in the game can perform better than these handguns, and there isn’t much going in favor of either of P18C and P92. However, they can be an effective aid in the initial stages of a game when most players are without proper weapons.
