PUBG: Battlegrounds has just released the patch notes detailing all the changes players can expect from the upcoming 20.1 update set to arrive in early October. PUBG: Battlegrounds will be making some changes to various weapon attachments, vehicular combat, quality-of-life, and the user interface, along with kicking off the game's 20th Ranked season.

After its humble beginning as an offshoot of the popular DayZ mod for ARMA 2, PUBG: Battlegrounds would join DayZ in becoming a standalone game and a pioneer of the incredibly successful battle royale genre which now includes lots of major titles. PUBG: Battlegrounds has since become one of the most-played games of all time, with a mobile version that has accumulated over a billion downloads. As a live-service game hosting millions of loyal players, it's important for PUBG: Battlegrounds to regularly implement new content as it moves into new competitive seasons. The game frequently pushes updates that add new items and locations or improve overall balance and gameplay.

The next major update for PUBG: Battlegrounds, Update 20.1, will be arriving on October 11 for PC players and October 19 for consoles. Along with a large number of minor balance tweaks, some of the highlights of the patch involve changes to the game's weapon attachments and the balance of vehicular combat. The 4x Scope has been given three new reticle types for players to freely choose from by pressing Page Up or Page Down on PC and in Settings on consoles. The balance of various grips has also been adjusted so that the popular Vertical Foregrip isn't such an obvious choice.

Fighting from PUBG: Battlegrounds' vehicles has been balanced somewhat in order to give on-foot players a better chance against mounted opponents. Handgun recoil and reload duration have been increased substantially in vehicles, and players can no longer reload while turning the steering wheel. Various other improvements have been made to the user interface such as wardrobe presets being organized into tabs along with the ability to preview each body part. Additionally, screen ping markers will become more transparent when they're nearby so they don't interfere with aiming, and the Carry feature can now be used with Limited interact keys.

Along with PUBG: Battlegrounds crossing over with Dead by Daylight this month, the 20th Ranked Season will also be kicking off with an all-new set of rewards for players to work toward such as animated ID emblems, permanently unlockable parachute skins, and other rewards usable for the duration of a single season.

PUBG Battlegrounds is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and mobile devices.
