Konami's P.T. was wildly popular when it released as a free demo in 2014 due to its connection to the long-desired Silent Hills. However, with the split of Konami and Hideo Kojima, the P.T. demo was removed from the PlayStation Store and Silent Hills was officially canceled. But now it seems a dedicated fan and developer has remade the original P.T. demo from scratch.

It took a sole developer around nine months of work to create this masterful remake, and it even comes with VR capabilities (though the user admitted to having issues with this part of development, making it hit or miss.) For those wondering, nearly every aspect is identical to the original, with the developer making just two real changes and foregoing the final cutscene.

Fans will see that the creator, Redditor Buzzooo2, changed the final loop slightly to make it somewhat simpler to beat, and Lisa won't do a jump scare in the bathroom. Other than that, fans will find a faithful remake, though those who want to try it out should act fast. The creator has a download available here: Unreal PT Download.

It is incredibly likely that Konami axes this project because, technically speaking, this is copyright infringement. As aforementioned, most of the game is identical to the 2014 official version, and other remakes have also been taken down. At this point, it only seems like a matter of time.

Taking all of this into consideration, the frequent amount of remakes available for this title speaks to the amount of hype that was behind this project. But sadly, with Konami and Kojima parting ways, there doesn't seem to be any hope of seeing a legitimate Silent Hills at any point. However, that doesn't mean horror fans are lacking, as there many horror games to look forward to in 2019.

Konami‘s P.T. is still playable to those who already own it, but is currently unavailable for download on PS4.
