When it comes to franchises that dish out tons of merchandise a year, most pale in comparison to PokemonThe franchise is a multimedia icon after all, with the video game spawning a huge trading card empire, an incredibly popular TV shows, and even recently making the jump into live-action cinema with the release of Detective Pikachu last year.

Through the hundreds of faces that make up its adorable pocket monster roster, many have been transformed into various physical items for the franchise's fans to enjoy, with Pikachu plushies, Magikarp hats, and even a Lapras sofa being sold to players. It seems now, a new name has joined that roster, with Pokemon Center Online recently highlighting a new, life-size Psyduck plushie will be hitting the market this October.

The plushie itself stands at a whopping 80 centimeters tall, weighing a surprisingly hefty 8.8 pounds. It seems like the hilarious little creature will also set fans back a pretty penny, with the plushie replica worth a whopping 30,800 yen ($288). Of course, Psyduck has a lot of fans, especially as the character has been a fixture of the franchise's roster since 1996, where it debuted as part of the first generation of Pokemon. For those who somehow aren't aware of the dopey little psychic duck, Psyduck is a relatively anxious Pokemon due to its constant headaches, with the creature spending most of its time trying to remain calm and thus seeming somewhat vacant. Not only is Psyduck one of the most prevalent Pokemon in the games, but it also had a prominent role in the recent Detective Pikachu movie as well.

The plushie will no doubt feel right at home in any major Pokemon fan's home, especially as Psyduck is such an iconic staple of the series' roster. For those looking to spend a little less on the newest item for their Psyduck shrine, there's a cheaper alternative in the form of a much smaller plushie that costs only 1,980 yen ($18.50). Of course, it can't boast the same "life-size" label as its much larger alternative, but it's still a fun collector's item for fans of the constantly on edge Pokemon.

Elsewhere in the Pokemon world, Sword and Shield recently received a brand new trailer for its first DLC pack, which will supposedly provide more locations, quests, and, of course, Pokemon. Hopefully, it'll draw fans back into last year's take on the franchise for some exciting new Pokemon adventures and high-octane battles.
