The holiday season has begun and with it came the launches of both the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X/S. But while some video game fans are able to skip Black Friday and the holiday shopping crush, having their pre-orders already fulfilled earlier in November, many are still refreshing Walmart and other retailers hoping for more stock. It looks like those gamers may have one more opportunity before Black Friday. Walmart's officially confirmed to be releasing more inventory of both PS5 and Xbox Series X/S tonight.

Walmart has been doing console shoppers a service over the past several weeks, updating the console listings for both the PS5 and the Xbox Series X/S with notices about when restocks are expected. Wednesday evening, those listings are once again updated. Each now confirms that stock will once again be available starting at 6:00 PM PT/9:00 PM ET on Wednesday, November 25. That means that the consoles will once again be available to purchase in less than an hour.

It should be made clear that Walmart's stock, regardless of how many consoles it has restocked, will be sold in a matter of minutes, if not seconds. Anyone interested in buying a console should do as much as possible to make their purchasing opportunity fast and simple. Make a Walmart account, enter shipping and credit card information into the account, and make sure to be logged in. After that, get to the console site listing of choice early and start refreshing. It's possible they'll go live before the deadline. Then, add to cart and check out as fast as possible. Don't trust Walmart to reserve a console if you get it into your cart.

This isn't the first time that Walmart has restocked next-gen consoles since they all launched. The last time it refilled its stock of PS5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles, the site crashed and by the time it was back up all consoles were sold out. Nevertheless, it's an opportunity. Hopefully, some video game nerds have a happy early holiday tonight.

Of course, Walmart isn't the only online retailer continuing to restock in the weeks since launch. It is, however, the most frequent to restock. Other retailers, including the PlayStation Direct store, have offered gamers the opportunity to buy a next-gen console in the past week or two. Even for those unable to acquire a console tonight, there will be more opportunities later.

It's also worth pointing out what an incredible challenge it is to acquire a new console right now. Both PS5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles are sold out internationally, and both console manufacturers have predicted that consoles will remain difficult to find for months yet. A lot of people won't have a console for the holidays, and while that's frustrating, it's just a sign of the state of things in 2020.

The PS5 and Xbox Series X/S are available now.
