Sony had been planning to reveal the PS5 at Game Developers Conference, or GDC 2020, posts by an official PlayStation social media account have confirmed. The company will be holding a PS5 reveal stream tomorrow, where it will share the console's official specs.

On Twitter, the official PlayStation Japan account tweeted out the details about the PS5 reveal event and teased what fans can expect from the stream. The account said that the stream will offer "a scheduled session at the Game Developers Conference (GDC) in the United States." For some reason, the stream will only be available in English and will not have subtitles. Sony is a Japanese company and the PS4 and its games have sold incredibly well in the region, so this seems like an odd decision, however, the company will likely post about the PS5 in Japanese.

The tweets confirm that Sony has had to quickly change its plans after GDC 2020 was postponed. Developers such as BioWare and Gearbox Software, which were going to be at GDC 2020, also plan to stream versions of their talks, for free, on the GDC Twitch channel this week. Fans are sure to be disappointed that GDC 2020 isn't happening as planned, and it may mean that some developers are no longer announcing games at the event, but they'll also be happy that the PS5 reveal hasn't been canceled.

The changes to the PS5 reveal plans are unlikely to make things any less fun for fans. Sony is expected to officially confirmed how powerful the PS5 is, allowing fans to see if it has more teraflops than the Xbox Series X. Information such as loading times, SSD space, and graphics may also be revealed.

The PS5 price and release date, are still a mystery, though there have been suggestions that the PS5 might be $500. Others have said that the console won't be higher than $400. With so much information being shared, Sony may hope to use its PS5 reveal event to provide official details.

PS5 launch title information is expected too, which there have been several rumors about. One popular rumor is that Guerrilla Games is developing Horizon Zero Dawn 2 for the console while developers like Naughty Dog may also be working on something for PS5.
