The PlayStation 5 has been shrouded in mystery ever since news first hit of the console's development back in April of last year. However, it has been revealed by an industry professional in a recent podcast episode that the PlayStation 5 will likely be revealed sometime next month.

The PlayStation 5, or the PS5, is a gaming console by Sony that has been in development for several years now. Though, within the last year, the gaming community has received quite a bit of information regarding the new system, such as its logo, which some fans have taken and done their own spin on. However, many important details surrounding the new console have been kept fairly close to the chest.

Because of the mystery, fans have put any and all news surrounding this new console under a microscope. As a result, it didn't take fans long to cite a quote by Patrick Klepek of Waypoint Radio, who has consistently provided the gaming community with accurate info regarding industry news.

In a recent interview, Klepek revealed that in the month of February, Sony is expected to showcase a multitude of different projects, one of which being a PS5 reveal event that will show off the console in its entirety. After Sony's recent removal from E3 2020, it's likely that Sony will be running a lot of events to remedy this. However, it's unclear whether Klepek's information is accurate or if he was just speculating.

Having said that, what Klepek said in the podcast episode does seem to align with current information. As of yesterday, the "Experience PlayStation" event is underway and will last until February 16th. According to some reputable leakers, it's likely that the official reveal of the PlayStation 5 will occur during that time-frame.

Though, if the reveal ultimately does take place then that still leaves a lot of speculation unanswered. Sure, the console itself will be unveiled and details of what it can do will definitely be showcased, but there is still the question of games.

If there was one thing that set the PlayStation 4 apart from other systems was its emphasis on console exclusive games. While it has been confirmed that the PlayStation 5 will have console exclusive games at launch, there are not that many games confirmed for the system itself. So hopefully, if the PS5 reveal event does take place sometime next month, then hopefully the gaming community will also see some console exclusives premiere as well.

The PlayStation 5 is set to release sometime in 2020.
