Speculation about Sony's upcoming PlayStation 5 reveal event is at a peak. A variety of sources of reported or leaked that Sony will be showing the PS5 off in February, but no official announcement has been made as of yet. The date of the event may have just been leaked, however, in a particularly interesting way. Thrustmaster, a peripheral make for PC and console, recently confirmed that a new set of its pedals would be revealed on February 13. The reveal coinciding with a PS5 reveal event seems to fit all-too-perfectly.

Thursday Thrustmaster made a post to Facebook teasing its new pedals with a high-def image of the new pedals and a date: February 13. The rest Thrustmaster left for its Facebook followers to figure out. The majority of fans responding to the post believe it to be a new version of Thrustmaster's popular T3PA pedals. This set of pedals is built to work with PC, PS4, and Xbox One. There's no immediately recognizable connection to the PS5 just taking into consideration Thrustmaster's teaser.

Where the connection to the PS5 comes in is two-fold. The first is a more general assumption that a company like Thrustmaster would take advantage of a major console reveal event to also reveal a big product like its new pedals. Since a PS5 reveal event is already assumed to be in February, Thrustmaster revealing its pedals at the event could be a possibility.

The second connection is wrapped up in an unconfirmed rumor that Sony will be announcing Gran Turismo 7 at the event and that it will be a PS5 launch exclusive. If Gran Turismo 7 is going to be a PS5 launch title, it makes sense that Sony would want to showcase peripherals like steering wheels and pedals at the event. Thrustmaster would be certain to take advantage of the opportunity, bringing its newest products and confirming that they'll be PS5 compatible.

All things considered, this is yet another rumor to add to the pile about Sony's rumored PS5 reveal event. It's certainly possible that the PS5 reveal event will be on February 13. Thrustmaster might also just be announcing its pedals for current consoles but with the knowledge that they will work for next-gen as well. In the end, PS5 fans are still waiting for more information.

The PS5 releases late 2020.
