Due to a variety of factors, it has been extremely difficult for most people to get their hands on a PlayStation 5 console. And unfortunately, it will likely be months until the situation is resolved and it becomes easier to simply walk into a store and walk out with a PS5. However, PS5 restocks are happening on a regular basis, and while it is still very difficult for people to claim a console for themselves, it's always worth a shot.

The next PS5 restock is happening at 3:00pm Eastern through Walmart's website. Walmart will have both the PS5 Disc Edition and the PS5 Digital Edition available for purchase while supplies last. The PS5 Disc Edition retails for $499, whereas the Digital Edition costs $399. The two consoles are fundamentally the same in terms of horsepower, but the difference is that the Digital Edition doesn't have a disc drive.

It's possible that Walmart will release its latest batch of PS5 stock in waves. It has done this previously, restocking its supply of PS5 consoles for sale after the first batch sells out. Even so, anyone that wants a chance should try to be on Walmart's site and ready to go once 3:00pm ET rolls around. Click here for the PS5 Disc Edition at Walmart or click here for the PS5 Digital Edition.

Eventually, it will be easier to get a PlayStation 5 console. As it stands, the semiconductor shortage, supply constraints brought about by COVID-19, and unprecedented demand have made it very difficult for gamers to get a console for themselves. Scalpers using bots have also made matters worse, sparking conversations about possibly making the practice illegal in certain parts of the world.

If world governments do decide to ban scalping for items like video game consoles, then future console generations may be able to avoid this mess. However, that doesn't really help people right now who are unable to get their hands on a PS5 or any next-generation console for that matter. For now, those people will just have to keep trying to purchase the new consoles through online retailers and keep their fingers crossed that they can claim a console before they're all swooped up.

More PS5 restocks will happen in the weeks and months ahead. So if anyone fails at getting their PlayStation 5 from Walmart today, they should have more opportunities to try again in the near future. Plus, other retailers will be getting new PS5 stock in as well, so those interested should keep an eye out.
