It is that time again, where Target is potentially restocking more PlayStation 5 consoles. Recent leaks imply that the retailer is going to be releasing another wave of PlayStation 5 consoles in the upcoming days.

Many players will be familiar with how difficult it has been to procure a next generation console. Due to sales going online for the pandemic, scalpers and bots have been able to grab stock instantly. Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 consoles have been selling out fast. But every so often there will be another round of devices, and customers have a chance to grab a new console.

It is possible that Target will be doing one of these waves this week. TechRadar has collected information from various sources at Target that suggest more PlayStation 5 console sales could be available soon. The site was told by a Target employee that there are 22 PS5 consoles at that particular store. There were a few other employees that confirmed more consoles too, but it sounds like customers can expect the disc version of the PS5 rather than digital. While the release has not happened yet, sources believe it could go live sometime between Tuesday and Thursday.

Some additional support for this possibility comes from Target kiosks. A Minnesota Target kiosk shows that there are 18 PS5 consoles in stock. A different store in Austin, Texas even shows 25+ devices on hand and 41 in the back. However, the ratio of disc PS5 being greater than digital is a common theme across locations. Those hoping to snag a next-generation console need to keep in mind that sales are entirely online. Logging into an account and refreshing tabs is still the best way to grab a PS5 before Target is sold out.

Those who have been looking to pick up a PS5 will be well aware of the tricks by now. There are a number of third party websites, apps, and browser extensions which can help with alerting hopeful gamers looking to beat scalpers buying PS5 stock early. Typically, these Target leaks have been fairly reliable over the past few months, so it's likely that consoles will appear sometime throughout the week, though it's difficult to say when exactly.

The problem is that even if someone manages to see availability as soon as it goes live, bots can win out. There is only so fast a normal person can click through the checkout steps, and that is assuming the Target site does not crash. With scalpers making huge profits from selling consoles above MSRP, the competition is fierce. But by keeping an eye on Target stock this week, it is possible gamers can pick up a PlayStation 5.
