Microsoft has generated quite a bit of buzz for its next-generation consoles these past couple of days, announcing that both the Xbox Series X and Series S will be available beginning November 10, priced at $499 and $299, respectively. Now Sony fans are growing even more impatient for the PS5 release date to be announced, and while there still hasn't been any official confirmation, Amazon UK may have let the cat out of the bag early.

As spotted by Reddit user ChEmIcAl_KeEn, Amazon UK is selling PlayStation 5 wall mounts that will be available beginning Thursday, November 19. Some have connected the dots, and assume that November 19 is also the release date for the PS5 console itself, which could very well be the case. However, a more likely PS5 release date would be the following day, Friday, November 20, which has been rumored in the past.

Typically, new video game software and hardware releases happen on Tuesdays or Fridays. In fact, the Xbox Series S and X consoles will be releasing on a Tuesday. It's possible Sony will break from that tradition, but it seems unlikely. Ultimately, fans will just have to wait for an official announcement to know for sure, but November 19-20 release date does seem to be the most likely scenario at this time.

Now that Microsoft has confirmed its release plans for its next-generation consoles, it's just a matter of time until Sony pulls the trigger as well. Rumors indicate that the PS5 release date and price announcement could come as early as today, but that remains to be seen. It's possible Sony will wait for a less busy gaming industry news day, as not only did Microsoft reveal the price and release date for its next-gen console, but the Black Ops Cold War multiplayer reveal is today as well.

With the PS5 likely releasing in November, though, more concrete information on its price and release date should come sooner rather than later. Sony has already indicated that PS5 consoles will be in short supply, so fans are anxious to get their chance to get one of the new consoles. Sony has said in the past that fans will get a head's up about when they will be able to pre-order, so it will be interesting to see how long they will have to wait for pre-orders to become available.

It will also be interesting to see if other PS5 hardware, like the DualSense controllers, will be in short supply as well. PlayStation 5 games require the DualSense controllers to function, so here's hoping PlayStation fans have no trouble getting everything they need this holiday season.
