The launch of the PS5 has been met with an overwhelming level of financial success. With the console fluctuating in and out of stock at various different retail outlets, it's become much more difficult for consumers to get their hands on a PS5. Though, it's apparent that the CEO of PlayStation is just as aware of this fact as everyone else.

Jim Ryan is the President and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment. He has been a key player in the PS5's development cycle and has served an important role in terms of the console's online promotion. As such an important figurehead of the company's foundation and presence within the gaming industry and community, Ryan knows all to well the issues the PS5 has had since it first launched.

The PS5 only just launched in Russia three days ago and so far, like the rest of the world, various retail outlets are having difficulty keeping both the PS5 and the Xbox Series X in stock. In a recent interview with a Russian media outlet, Ryan discussed the complicated facets that have arisen as a result of launching a next-gen console worldwide in the middle of a global pandemic.

When asked about how the sales of the console have been doing, Ryan didn't provide actual sales figures, but he did say that "absolutely everything is sold." Hopefully, this is more of an exaggeration if anything else, but given the struggles that have occurred in terms of PS5 pre-orders and maintaining stock in retail outlets, this response does seem to bear a lot of accuracy.

Right now, the biggest problem that Sony is facing is somehow managing to maintain supply to meet the extremely high consumer demand for the console. A problem with a great deal of difficulty, especially considering the high volume of scalping surrounding both the PS5 and Xbox Series X. Then again, the fact that units are selling this well should mean that the overall sales of the console are astronomical.

In any case, it will be interesting to see how much more success the console achieves as the months progress. It's only been ten days since the console first launched, but the PS5 has already outsold the Xbox Series X/S in Japan and that was in the span of four days. While the high demand for the console is certainly impressive, hopefully Sony manages to maintain inventory and make sure that everyone receives their console.
