Just several days ago, Sony president Kenichiro Yoshida confirmed that the company is working on a new system, but the Japanese tech firm's CEO stopped short at officially giving it a name or mentioning the console's expected title of PS5. With this being the case, it looks as if Sony is looking to hire new talent to spearhead the advertisement campaign for what is expected to be the new PlayStation 5 hardware.

According to a LinkedIn job description for a Senior Product Manager, the post talks about how the chosen candidate will "own the roadmap" when it comes to Sony's plans for its next generation console. Of course, it's worth noting that much like Yoshida's aforementioned confirmation of the system, the listing doesn't specifically mention the console by name. However, this presumably means that the PS5–or whatever its final name will be–could be coming sooner than many expected.

About a couple of months ago, the Japanese analyst firm Ace Economic Research Institute claimed that the PlayStation 5 could have a late 2019 launch. That said, though, Ace asserts that this will only happen on the condition that Sony is able to obtain the necessary amount of monolithic ceramic capacitors to manufacture enough consoles to ship to retailers. Of course, with the capacitors in short supply right now due to their usage in a multitude of different technologies, there's a good chance that the PS5 will see a release in 2020.

At this point, it definitely appears as if Sony is getting ready to make a major push to start planting the seeds of the next console generation in players' minds. After all, another position potentially related to the PlayStation 5 was recently discovered on Glassdoor as well, with Sony looking for a Senior Software Engineer to handle the task of "developing platforms that enable delivering intelligent experiences to next generation of PlayStation devices." So, taking all of this into account, it will be interesting to see just how soon the PS5 will come to be and what it will bring to the table.
