The PlayStation 5 has finally launched on to store shelves and those lucky enough to snag one are sure to want to play as many of the launch titles as possible. While some players might have the affordability to purchase every launch title outright, the price of the console itself might lead to some players only being able to afford one or two games.

Thankfully, Sony has made it easy for PS5 owners to share their purchased games with their friends. The PS4 had a similar feature, but the entire process has been simplified to the point where fans can enjoy their friend's games even if their PS5 is offline.

In order to game share with a friend's console and vice versa, PS5 owners will need to comb through the PS5 dashboard and select Settings. After that, find the Users and Accounts feature and scroll all the way down to Other. Select the very first option on the menu, Console Sharing and Offline Play. Selecting this option will bring up some Console Sharing information detailing whether the feature is currently enabled as well as some extra info for clarification. Go ahead and enable the feature if it's not already.

Once the feature is enabled, games tied to that account will be able to be installed on that PS5 even if the account is logged out. Now, the accounts can only have Console Sharing enabled to a single PS5, so players should express caution with whoever they decide to share their console with. Although, disabling the console sharing will let players share it with another friend. If PS5 owners previously owned a PS4 and own any digital PS4 titles, the PS5's backwards compatibility with the majority of PS4 games will be a treat to new Sony fans.

It's quite easy to transfer the PS4 games and their saves to PS5, so previous owners of the PS4 should have plenty of games to choose from with their new console. Couple that with plenty of titles now playing at 60fps like God of War and that only furthers the appeal to purchase a PS5.

Console sharing is only a positive feature. Getting to share a friend's library and vice versa will allow more people to enjoy games that peak their interest without having to shell out the hefty $70 price tag that many next-gen games will have. Once the console has been out for a while and there are much more games to choose from, this feature will be all the more worthwhile.
