Sony has been somewhat slow to reveal new information about its upcoming PlayStation 5 console. It first revealed the PS5 specs, then showed off the DualSense controller, and finally unveiled the console design alongside a variety of its launch window games. And now Sony has revealed what PlayStation 5 game cases will look like when they start lining store shelves at some point later this year.

Using Spider-Man: Miles Morales as an example, PlayStation has revealed that PS5 game cases will look pretty similar to PS4 cases, with some notable differences. The PS5 game box will still be blue, but the strip at the top will be black and white instead of blue and white. The "Only on PlayStation" mark is gone, but otherwise the rest of the case looks like it will be pretty much the same. It looks like the PS5 game cases will be somewhat taller than the PS4 game cases, but no exact dimensions have been released and that's just speculation at this time.

Sony choosing to use Spider-Man: Miles Morales to unveil the PS5 game box art is telling. It is a good indication that the game will be a PS5 launch title, and it also shows Sony has confidence in it.

Spider-Man on PS4 was a hugely successful game, so it's not all that surprising that Sony is using Spider-Man: Miles Morales as its flagship PS5 game at launch. However, fans should keep their expectations in check. Insomniac has been upfront that while Spider-Man: Miles Morales will tell a complete story, the game is definitely going to be smaller in scale when compared to the Spider-Man PS4 game.

Apparently, Spider-Man: Miles Morales will be similar in scope to Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. But even though Spider-Man: Miles Morales is going to be a much shorter experience than the Spider-Man PS4 game, it's still likely to be a high quality game. After all, Insomniac has produced one hit after another for years, and there's no indication that its momentum is slowing down any time soon.

Hopefully Sony gives fans a look at some other PS5 game box art soon, like Horizon Forbidden West and some of the other titles on the way.

Spider-Man: Miles Morales is coming exclusively to PS5.
