Rumors claimed that Sony was set to reveal its PlayStation 5 console at CES 2020. Instead the company showed off the PS5 logo, and while that has gotten most of the attention, there was another reveal at CES 2020 that has somewhat flown under the radar. Sony also confirmed some of the PS5's hardware features that those who purchase the next-generation console will have to look forward to later this year.

Five PS5 hardware features in particular were highlighted. The PS5 will support 3D Audio Sound, Haptics/Adaptive Triggers, Ultra-High Speed SSD, Hardware-Based Ray Tracing, and Ultra HD Blu-Ray. Specific PS5 specs weren't revealed, but it seems safe to say based on these hardware features that the new console will be top of the line.

Perhaps the most exciting feature for gamers will be the PS5's Ultra-High Speed SSD. It's been said in the past how the PS5 can virtually eliminate load times in games thanks to its SSD, which should improve gaming experiences across the board. There are many games that have been held back by long load times over the years, so this is great news for gamers.

Unfortunately, Sony didn't show any of the PS5 hardware features in action, leaving the console's proper reveal for another time. As for when the PS5 reveal may take place, that's anyone's guess, but the prevailing rumor points to a PS5 reveal in February. There was a supposed leak a few months ago that claimed a PS5 reveal event would take place in February, with Sony showing off the console and providing more details about what it will entail.

It's possible that PlayStation enthusiasts will learn the PS5 price point at the rumored February event as well. Other rumors have claimed that PS5 pre-orders will go live as early as this coming March, which would mean that Sony would reveal the console's price and release date before then. With March just a couple of months away, February would be one of Sony's last opportunities to properly reveal the console if those rumors are true.

Alternatively, Sony may be waiting until E3 2020 to reveal the PS5 price and release date, and maybe even the design of the console itself. We know that the PS5 is set to release in the holiday 2020, though, so a full reveal should happen by the end of the summer.
