The current PlayStation consoles may soon have Discord integration if a recent datamine is to be believed. A leaker claims to have datamined a current build of the popular app, and posted their findings online, adding to the speculation that the feature may come soon to PS4 and PS5 systems.Discord is the PC's top application for voice and text communication, and community engagement via servers of all kinds. Between game developers, player communities, and content creators, Discord has overtaken traditional text forums and other voice programs as the go-to application for gaming. Sony and Discord announced a partnership in 2021, after pausing talks with Microsoft concerning a potential acquisition at the time. Though little has come out of it, PlayStation users can use Discord to share their activity feeds and link their accounts for future features. But, more things may come to both platforms sooner rather than later.RELATED: Discord May Have Just Leaked The Next Monster Hunter GameThe leak comes after months of speculation, with Twitter user advaithj1 adding their findings to the mix. In their post, advaithj1 posted some screenshots from a recent build of the Discord mobile app on their iOS device. The screenshots show options to "Join Voice on PlayStation," as well as a list of PS5 and PS4 features for Discord users to consider. PS5 users would be allowed to join in voice chats and display the game currently being played. PS4 users, on the other hand, would only be able to display their currently played game, without any voice chat integration. A third screenshot prompted users to go sign in to their PlayStation Network accounts to unlock full integration.

Currently, the Xbox systems allow for full Discord voice and text integration in the console OS. However, Xbox users must join or start calls on the PC app before being prompted to take the call to their Xbox console. The Xbox integration is currently in alpha testing via the Xbox Insiders alpha group, as of October 19.

In the past, subscribers to the premium Discord Nitro service have received free trial offers for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, ranging from one month to three months at a time, and exclusively for potential new subscribers. Since then, Discord has recently released Nitro Basic at $2.99 USD, replacing the previous $4.99 tier called Nitro Classic, and saving subscribers a couple of dollars per month. The change started rolling out back in August starting in the UK. It has since made its way to other regions and countries, including the Americas.

Whether this round of rumors and datamining will lead to any concrete PlayStation integration or not, both PlayStation and Xbox console users have plenty to look forward to soon.
