PlayStation 5 owners have found ways to have fun with their consoles aside from playing one of the many titles available for them. Now owners of the newest Sony console have started to customize their devices by plastidipping or wrapping them to create a new exciting look. One of the best modifications so far is an Alien-inspired adaptation made using a 3D printer to create a Xenomorph head for the console.

The design of the PS5 has gathered a lot of attention ever since it was first announced. Even though the most recent look of the new PS was the inspiration behind thousands of memes, the PS5 design is not too extravagant. Although the console is slim, the device stands at over 15 inches, making it even bigger than its largest predecessor, the PS3.

Sony tried to innovate in the console's design by not going for the usual box shape most consoles have, but the device's monochromatic color scheme has made users want to modify their PS5 to further customize them. For LanderQuest on Thingiverse, the best way to modify a PS5 was to design and 3D print a Xenomorph head and attach it to the middle part of the console. LanderQuest originally uploaded the design to Thingiverse in December, but it was not until recently that it was posted on the PS5 subreddit by user Carnifex that it gained more attention.

In the summary of LanderQuest's design, the user explains that the model does not fit perfectly because of the console's curvatures so, anyone who wants to use the model is welcome to further modify it. LanderQuest mentions that to achieve the final outcome, the Xenomorph's teeth were trimmed to look sharper. The creator also notes that the Xenomorph was attached to the PS5 using double-sided tape.

While some of the PS5 mods that have been going around the internet recently are incredibly inventive, nothing changes the PS5 design as dramatically as incorporating 3D prints into the device. Redditors seemed to like LanderQuest's Xenomorph PS5 so much that they found another mod for a facehugger stand.

Although many thought the xenomorph mod was a good addition, many will probably rather keep the original PS5 design, or just stick to easier modifications that do not require access to a 3D printer. In any case, LanderQuest's model is undoubtedly creative, so hopefully someone will further work on the model to make it properly fit the PlayStation 5.
