A well-known and credible reporter, Jason Schreier, recently shared what he thinks to be the upcoming PS5 reveal event date in an interview with Press Start Podcast. Compared to the Xbox Series X, which revealed its console months ago, fans have been waiting to get a first look at the upcoming console.

Schreier is well known for his insider knowledge and particularly specializes in covering working conditions within the video game industry. Now it seems he may know the tentative PS5 reveal date.

If Schreier is to be believed, the PS5 reveal date will be sometime in early to mid June, meaning that fans may be just one month away from finally getting to see the console. Whether or not this reveal will be paired with a showcase of new games similar to the Inside Xbox yesterday is unclear.

Schreier prefaces his statement multiple times, reminding viewers that although early to mid June is the plan for the PS5 reveal date and things are currently still on track, nothing is set in stone at the moment. The Coronavirus pandemic has caused numerous events to be cancelled or suspended and games like The Last of Us 2 to be delayed, so it wouldn't be surprising if this reveal event was pushed back as well. That said, it likely wouldn't be cancelled or delayed too dramatically given that the presentation will most likely be digital.

Sony has claimed that the PS5 has not been delayed by the Coronavirus in the past, so hopefully that is still true. VentureBeat's Jeff Grubb claimed that the PS5 reveal would be on June 4th, and this seems to line up with Schreier's comment as well, making that a real possibility. Either way, it seems like eager fans have no more than a little over a month to wait before getting to see the design. If the hype surrounding the PS5 DualSense controller reveal is anything to go off of, this will be an exciting reveal.

Of course, this isn't official news, but it does come from a generally trustworthy source. It could be that both are mistaken or plans change, and the reveal won't come for months still. Otherwise, fans may expect to see PS5 as soon as June 4th, although it is best to take it with a grain of salt.
