Rumors have been making the rounds that developers have been claiming the PS5 to be the console with the best architecture of all time. The info comes by way of VentureBeat, and it does seem believable given what other public PS5 statements have been made about Sony's upcoming next generation console.

With the official announcement of the PS5 showcase coming up in just a few days, VentureBeat reported some information about the PS5. In this report, the website claims that some studios "... have told GamesBeat that [the PS5] has better architecture than any console in history."

There doesn't seem to be anything from VentureBeat specifically to back this statement up, but there have been numerous instances of companies making statements similar to this praising the PS5 for how easy it is to develop on. It could be that Sony's developer focused architecture will go a long way for the system.

All too often console creators are worried too much about consumers and not enough about the companies that create the video games to be played. Sony has taken this to heart and seemingly created a console which provides developers with a seamless experience. Numerous people from development companies have made statements to back this up, such as when a Crytek dev claimed the PS5 is better than Xbox Series X. This interview was redacted, but this is likely because Crytek didn't want to take an official stance on the issue.

The Xbox Series X has been hailed as the more powerful console between the two when looking at the specs of the machines, but raw power only goes so far. Having great code, user interfaces, and developer kits is just as, if not more, important to making a well rounded console. That isn't to say that the Xbox Series X doesn't have those things, but for the most part no one has thought it was worth writing home about. If Sony is able to win the hearts of developers, it may be able to tip the scales of the never ending console wars in its favor.

The PS5 reveal takes place on June 4th, and more information about the console should be revealed then. Fans should remember to go in with tempered expectations, however, so as to not repeat the debacle that was the Xbox Series X Gameplay Reveal. Still, the claim that the PS5 has better architecture than any console before it is huge, and it will be cool to see if it is really true.

The PS5 releases this holiday season.
