In just a few short days thousands of fans will descend upon San Diego for Comic-Con International 2013, one of the biggest trade shows of the year. While Comic-Con has become Mecha for all things movies and TV it has slowly begun to incorporate video games as well.
Game Rant has learned that both the PS4 and Xbox One will be playable on the Comic-Con show floor, providing gamers their first opportunity to go hands-on with the new devices. Not only that but gamers will be able to finally discover what the revamped Xbox One controller (with force feedback triggers) and DualShock 4 controller feel like.
As far as games are concerned, Sony will be bringing a handful of titles from their upcoming next-gen slate including Knack, Driveclub, and Octodad: Deadliest Catch. Microsoft, on the other hand, will offer gamers hands-on time with the new Killer Instinct and Ryse: Son of Rome. Microsoft will also be hosting an Xbox Showcase event off-site at the Manchester Grand Hyatt where gamers can see Halo: Spartan Assault, Dead Rising 3, and the Halo 4: Champions Bundle DLC.
In addition to the show floor demos, a whole wealth of publishers will be playing host to some pretty exciting panels. Titles like Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, Batman: Arkham Origins, and Watch_Dogs will be on display for a lucky thousand or so panel attendees to see.
The video game booths at Comic-Con are typically very crowded, so gamers are encouraged to head over as soon as possible. In all honesty, though, it likely won’t matter what games are available as long as attendees can come away saying they’ve held both controllers in their hands.
However, if you happen to be unable to make it to Comic-Con this year rest assured we will be there in full force, bringing all the news that’s fit to print.
Will you be attending Comic-Con International this year? Do you hope to get your hands on either the Xbox One or PS4 controllers?
Comic-Con runs from July 18-21 in San Diego, CA.
