After almost five years on the market, the PlayStation 4 is nearing the end of its lifespan. But before the long-anticipated PS5 hits the market, many players are choosing to look back on the current generation's greatest hits. Amongst these many retrospectives, the popular YouTube channel Kinda Funny is putting a unique spin on its tribute to the PS4 by inviting fans to rank the console's many exclusives.

Following its initial cancellation in 2017, Kinda Funny re-introduced its PlayStation-based podcast P.S. I Love You XOXO in 2020. While the revival covered some of the PS4's last exclusives, such as The Last of Us Part II and Ghost of Tsushima, P.S. I Love You XOXO took the opportunity to look back on the games released in its absence.

Before the July 21 episode, hosts Blessing Adeoye Jr. and Greg Miller shared a tournament bracket on social media. Pitting the currently available 72 PS4 exclusives against, the two hosts compared each game to determine which games would advance further in the competition. After narrowing down the candidates for the best exclusive between 2018's God of War and The Last of Us Part II.

However, Miller ultimately championed God of War as the best exclusive because of its satisfying gameplay, interaction with its characters, moving narrative, and valuable character development for its protagonist, Kratos. Admitting that God of War was a personal favorite, Miller also cited the fact that he would recommend it to someone who was picking up a PS4 for the first time. Adeoye concurred, calling the game "a clean experience... from beginning to end," and a triumph reinvention of Kratos and the God of War franchise as a whole. Both hosts praised the game's mechanics as a perfect execution of the developers' vision. Approximately 66% of fans tuning in on the live broadcast also voted for God of War for the best exclusive.

In response, many fans took the blank bracket and made tournaments of their own. Several Twitter users concluded with similar finalists, and while some crowned The Last of Us Part II as their best PS4 exclusives, others picked different titles entirely, like Persona 5 and Astro Bot: Rescue Mission. No matter which exclusive won, it's clear that every game on this list will hold a fond place in someone's mind.
