PlayStation fans continue to express their appreciation for PS4 as many of them continue to try getting their hands on a PS5. One PS4 fan recently made some surprisingly impressive black and white PS4 game covers.

Reddit user Shaneisshort recently shared their new creation of black and white PS4 game covers. The sheet of paper typically included with PS4 games is as colorful as most gamers would expect, but Shaneisshort's recreations are completely void of that color. The colorless sheets of paper are still incredibly detailed and are fittingly inserted into blue cases.

Shaneisshort stated that their copies of Bloodborne and Horizon Zero Dawn were without cases, which is what inspired this artistic gaming project. Without the original cases, Shaneisshort saught to print some flashy game covers and insert them into new cases, but they discovered that their printer doesn't do color. Despite these hurdles, Shaneisshort showed off the incredible black and white cases, which add an edge to the game art.

Both Bloodborne and Horizon Zero Dawn feature their game's protagonist on the game cover, and this remains the case with Shaneisshort's recreations. Adding to the mystery introduced with the black and white version of these covers, both heroes face away from the viewer. The similarities between the game covers can be more easily drawn without the vibrant colors of Horizon Zero Dawn contrasting the blood-red of Bloodborne.

While there are many similarities between the two game covers, Horizon Zero Dawn's Aloy is dwarfed by the white void around her in Shaneisshort's recreations. The Hunter of Bloodborne stands more prominently over most of the game's art and there are little details in his armor and weapons. By comparison, Aloy appears more like the outline of Michael Jordan in the Air Jordan product line.

PlayStation fans that have been with the brand since the initial console and the PS2 may be familiar with the black and white look of Shaneisshort's game covers. Many titles across the first two generations of PlayStation featured similar black and white art, a phenomenon that disappeared with the PS3 and PS4. Some fans of Shaneisshort's work were also quick to point out that these game covers are perfect for fans of the noir genre.

While many PS4 fans may prefer their game art covered in color, there are several gamers who may prefer the minimalistic approach of Shaneisshort's recreations. Both Horizon Zero Dawn and Bloodborne are popular and acclaimed titles on PS4, but Shaneisshort has found a way to celebrate them in their own unique way. Because Shaneishere explained the circumstances that led to the creation of these game covers, fans with printers of their own can mimic these covers.
