A 3D artist created a realistic hot tub shaped like a PlayStation 1. It looked so believable that gamers instantly wanted it for their own backyards, so they could chill inside the iconic console.

First released in Japan in 1994, the PS1 was Sony Computer Entertainment's answer to the Nintendo 64 and Sega Saturn. The console had a diverse video game library, which included popular titles like Final Fantasy 7, Metal Gear Solid, and Tomb Raider. Over two decades later, PlayStation has had various generations, with the latest being the PlayStation 5.

While gamers are currently loving the next-gen features of the PS5, some still feel nostalgic about the PS1 and its games. Artist and composer Kidd Gorgeous decided to tap into this nostalgia and created a 3D rendering of a PS1 hot tub. A short Instagram video showed the massive console situated in a yard, complete with Power, Reset, and Open buttons. The disk cover was also opening slowly to reveal the water in the hot tub. Based on the hashtags Gorgeous used in the caption, he made the 3D render in Blender, a 3D graphics software. He also provided the synth wave music playing in the Instagram video.

Gorgeous' followers praised his work, emphasizing how lifelike it looked. People also pointed out that, upon closer inspection, the artist also rendered the surroundings of the PS1 hot tub, including the grass. The PS1 hot tub also made rounds on Twitter via the Esports account, where it also received positive reactions. Many said they wanted to get the hot tub built in their own backyards once they could afford to do so. Some also wanted to hire the artist to design their hot tubs at home. On the other hand, Gorgeous seemed to fool a lot of people as they asked whether the PS1 hot tub was real or not.

The hot tub may not be real (yet), but gamers could still feed their nostalgia with PS1 games via PlayStation Plus Premium. Subscribers have access to classic PS1, PS2, PSP, and PS3 games, which they can play on the PS4 and PS5. Recently, a Reddit user discovered that gamers could switch between PAL and NTSC for PS1 games.

There are also many PS1 games that are being remade for modern consoles. One of the most notable being Final Fantasy 7, which had a complete graphical overhaul. This just proves that despite being an obsolete console, it's undeniable that the PS1 contributed to the success and iconic status of many games.
