Sony and Microsoft revealed the free games for PS Plus and Xbox Games with Gold in November 2021 a couple of weeks ago. While the main feature of PS Plus and Xbox Live Gold will always be online multiplayer functionality, players still put importance on the overall value they get from their subscriptions, especially with the roster of free titles.

Although both services have had their ups and downs throughout 2021, it appears that PS Plus subscribers are primarily satisfied with November 2021's roster of free games. However, Xbox Games with Gold players are split down the middle.

Throughout 2021, PS Plus players have been accustomed to getting three free games a month, consisting of one PS5 game and two PS4 titles. However, this month's PS Plus announcement revealed Sony is doubling that number for November, giving subscribers six free games in total.

November's roster of free PS Plus games consists of First Class Trouble, Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning, Knockout City, The Persistence, The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners, and Until You Fall. On the other hand, Microsoft announced no changes to the number of free Xbox Games with Gold for November, buut players will get access to Moving Out, Kingdom Two Crowns, Rocket Knight, and LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes.

Xbox Games with Gold Still Hasn't Included a Next-Gen Game

One of the most prominent criticisms players have of Xbox Games with Gold is the lack of Xbox Series X/S games being offered through the service. Meanwhile, ever since the release of the PS5 last November, Sony has consistently included one title from the next-generation PlayStation console. It remains a mystery why Microsoft has not been willing to include a next-gen game in its roster as Sony does, but the company is likely reserving Xbox Series X/S games for Game Pass.

PS Plus is offering two PS5 games this month: First Class Trouble, which just released on PS4 and PS5 alongside its inclusion; and Knockout City. While it is not made specifically for the PS5, Knockout City just received a next-gen update several days ago that includes a graphical overhaul.

Both Services Offer Decent Games for Co-Op Fans

One thing that the PS Plus and Xbox Games with Gold for November 2021 have in common is an excellent selection of co-op games. On the PS Plus side, Sony is offering two co-op multiplayer games for subscribers: the aforementioned First Class Trouble and Knockout City. First Class Trouble is a social deduction game similar to Among Us. On the other hand, Knockout City is a team-based multiplayer game that resembles an extreme take on dodgeball.

Similar to PS Plus, Xbox Games with Gold is offering several co-op games this November. All its included titles except Rocket Knight have some sort of a co-op multiplayer mode. In Moving Out, players work together to transport furniture, boxes, and more safely and efficiently onto a loading van. Kingdom Two Crowns lets players work together to manage and rule a kingdom, allowing them to have two different mounts and collect more coins and gems. Lastly, LEGO Batman 2 DC Super Heroes features co-op mechanics as is the standard formula in most LEGO games. However, its two-player co-op mode uses a splitscreen given the game's open-world environment.
