November 2021 has arrived and with it a new round of PlayStation Plus games for subscribers to download. This month's games include the surprise hit Knockout City, the Electronic Arts-published multiplayer dodgeball game. While the inclusion of Knockout City, which has a free-to-start version already available, is somewhat controversial, PlayStation Plus subscribers still looked to claim their free game on November 2. Unfortunately, however, some subscribers discovered that Knockout City wasn't available to them

For whatever reason, some PlayStation Plus subscribers reported that they weren't able to claim Knockout City despite the game being made available on November 2. When these subscribers went to click "Add to Library," the action wouldn't go through. The bug only appears to have hit a small number of PlayStation Plus subscribers, but since Knockout City is the biggest game of November it's appropriately being seen as a frustrating issue for subscribers to have to deal with.

In Sony's defense, there were reports on Wednesday that the issue had been fixed. PlayStation Plus subscribers that were unable to download Knockout City on Tuesday confirmed that they were able to download the game today. However, it sounds like whatever fix was issued didn't solve the problem for every PlayStation Plus subscriber. Further accounts from some PlayStation Plus subscribers insist that they're still unable to unlock Knockout City on their account.

Exactly what the problem is isn't clear, but it's not the first time something like this has happened. For example, in January 2021, users that tried to claim games including Shadow of the Tomb Raider, GreedFall, and Maneater were prevented from doing so. Shadow of the Tomb Raider threw up an error, while the other two games asked current subscribers to re-subscribe. It just goes to show that sometimes there are unusual access-related issues tied to PlayStation Plus games. They're usually solved very quickly.

The situation is made all the odder because of online criticism surrounding November's PlayStation Plus game line-up. Going back into September when leaks hinted at November's line-up of games, Playstation Plus subscribers criticized the lack of a major game inclusion for the holiday season. Some even joked that those who criticized Knockout City's inclusion were the ones blocked from downloading it.

Regardless, PlayStation Plus subscribers still having issues with unlocking Knockout City will likely be rewarded if they remain patient. Sony's already solved the issue for many of those with a problem. A fix will likely be made for the remaining PlayStation Plus subscribers soon.
